  3. Tools required:Phillips Screwdriver and a pair of pliers

  5. Lay the appliance on its side to expose the base

  6. Using the phillips screwdriver remove the base retaining screws

  7. Remove further base retaining screws

  8. Carefully pull the base out a small amount

  9. Locate the overflow unit on the inside of the base

  10. Make a note of the wires and remove them, now remove the base

  11. Locate the water softening unit

  12. Make a note of the wires (a photograph is useful) and remove them

  14. Grip the small grey pipe & remove it

  16. Using the pliers release the corbin clip retaining the small black pipe

  18. Grip the small black pipe & remove it

  20. From inside the appliance remove the salt container cap

  22. Remove the water softener unit retaining ring

  24. From the bottom of the appliance grip the water softener unit

  26. Using the pliers release the corbin clip retaining the hose from the sump

  27. Grip the hose & remove it from the water softener unit

  29. Water softener unit removed from appliance

  30. Take the new water softener unit (salt container) from its package ensuring its correct for the appliance

  31. Replace the hose connecting the water softener unit to the sump

  32. Make sure its pushed all the way onto the water softener unit

  33. Using the pliers refit the corbin clip

  34. Fit the new water softener unit to the appliance

  35. Make sure the water softener unit is in the correct position

  36. From inside the appliance fit the water softener retaining ring

  37. Screw the retaining ring as tight as possible by hand

  41. Fit the small black hose to the water softener unit

  42. Push the hose all the way onto the water softener unit

  43. Using the pliers refit the corbin clip

  44. Fit the small grey hose to the water softener unit

  45. Push the hose all the way on

  46. Attach the wires to the new water softener unit

  48. Water softener unit in place

  49. Replace the wires to the overflow float  micro switch

  50. Wires attached

  51. Replace the base

  52. Using the phillips screwdriver replace the base retaining screws

  53. Replace further base retaining screws
    DI620 Base 2
  54. Now stand the appliance upright

  55. The appliance is now ready for use
