How to change door handle kit on a washing machine Ariston AIB16
Safety first Remove the plug from the mains supply
Tools required are a pliers, phillips screwdriver, 7mm socket T10 torx spanner
Flat-head screwdriver
Using the 7mm socket remove 4 screws and remove the door from the outer casing
Using the T10 torx spanner remove the hinges from the door
Using the phillips screwdriver remove the screws holding the door together
Remove further screws
Using the flat head screwdriver gently prise the door assembly apart
Gently separate the door assembly
Remove 1 part of the door assembly away from the other
Make a note of the position of the glass, remove the glass and set aside
Using a pair of pliers remove the retaining pin to release the handle kit
Remove the handle
Make a note of the position of the spring and latch (a photograph is useful)
Remove the spring and latch
Take the new door handle kit from its package ensuring its correct for the appliance
Place the new spring and latch into position and just locate the pin
Place the new door handle into the correct position
And push the pin all the way home
Refit the glass ensuring its in the correct position
Feed the handle through the aperture of the other door part
Clip the 2 door parts together
Clip the 2 door parts together
Using the phillips screwdriver refit the screws holding the door parts together
Refit further screws holding the door parts together
Using the T10 torx spanner fit the hinges to the door
Using the 7mm socket replace 4 screws and fit the door to the outer casing
