Part suitablilty

Hi, I have a Hotpoint HM315NI and the temperature on the fridge is permanently frozen. Cannot regulate by turning the temp gauge down.
I am therefore assuming its the thermostat, does this part fit the fridge, or both?! The freezer appears okay...thanks.
