How to change a door hinge assembly on an Indesit Integrated Dishwasher
- Safety First:Remove the Plug from the Mains Socket
- Tools required:Phillips Screwdriver & 4mm Hex Key
- Flat screwdriver & a pair of pliers
- Indesit DI620 Integrated Dishwasher
- Open the door & remove the door panel retaining screws
- Remove the door panel retaining screws on both sides
- Remove the door panel
- Door panel removed
- Using the phillips screwdriver remove the side panel retaining screws
- Open the door & remove the screws behind the rubber edge cover
- Remove the screws behind the rubber edge cover
- Remove further screws to the side panel
- Remove 2 further screws to the side panel
- Remove further screws to the side panel
- Remove 2 further screws to the side panel
- Remove the Side Panel & repeat on the other side
- With the door closed locate the lower door seal
- Remove the lower door seal retaining springs
- Remove the lower door seal from the appliance casing
- Locate the spring wire adjuster on top of the appliance
- Using the 4mm hex key release the tension on the spring adjustment wire
- Release the tension on the spring adjustment wire on the other side
- Spring wire adjuster released
- Grip the plastic spring protector and slide it upwards to expose the spring
- The spring is now exposed connected to the door hinge
- With the door in the closed position grip the spring & push downwards to unhook
- Spring unhooked from the door hinge now repeat on the other side
- Unclip the door hinge from the door on both sides
- Using a flat head screwdriver release the door hinge pin retaining washer
- Remove the door hinge pin retaining washer
- Push the door hinge pin out
- Grip the door hinge pin and remove it
- Door hinge pin removed now repeat on the other side
- Locate the hinge assembly retaining bolt securing the earth wire
- Remove the hinge assembly retaining bolt securing the earth wire first
- Remove the remaining hinge assembly retaining bolts on both sides
- Hinge assembly bolts removed
- Remove the hinge assembly
- Hinge assembly removed
- Take the hinge assembly from its package ensuring its correct for the appliance
- Fit the new hinge assembly to the door
- Using the phillips screwdriver replace the hinge assembly retaining bolts
- Fit the remaining bolt securing the earth wire
- Tighten all of the hinge assembly bolts securely
- Relocate the door onto the appliance and install the door hinge pin
- Install the door hinge pin on the other side
- Replace the door hinge pin retaining washer
- Using a pair of pliers squeeze the washer into place
- Clip the door hinge onto the door on both sides
- Hinge in place
- Grip the door spring & push downwards to hook onto the door hinge
- Door spring in place on the door hinge
- Slide the spring protector over the door spring now repeat on the other side
- Using the 4mm hex key readjust the tension on the spring adjustment wire
- Readjust the tension on the spring adjustment wire on the other side
- Spring wire readjusted
- Fit the new lower door seal onto the appliance casing
- Feed the lower door seal all the way along the appliance casing
- Refit the lower door seal retaining clips
- Push the lower door seal retaining clips into position
- Lower door seal retaining clips in place
- Replace the side panels on both sides
- Using the phillips screwdriver replace 2 screws to the side panels
- Replace further screws to the side panels
- Replace 2 further screws to the side panels
- Replace further screws to the side panels
- Replace further screws to the side panels behind the rubber edge cover
- Replace further screws to the side panels behind the rubber edge cover
- Replace further screws to the side panels
- Replace the door panel
- Open the door & replace the door panel retaining screws
- Replace the door panel retaining screws on both sides
