How to change a door interlock on a Washing Machine Hotpoint WMA 60P
How to change a door interlock on a Washing Machine Hotpoint WMA 60P- Safety First: Remove the plug from the mains socket

- Tools required are a phillips screwdriver and a T15 torx spanner

- A small flat head screwdriver

- Remove the screw cover caps on both sides of the lid

- Using the T15 torx spanner remove 2 lid retaining screws

- Lift the lid slightly

- Push the lid back and remove it

- Lid removed

- Remove the soap dispenser

- Using the phillips screwdriver remove 3 console retaining screws

- From the left pull the console away from the machine

- From the right un-clip the console

- Make a note of the wires (a photograph is useful)

- Release the wires from the control module by pushing them away

- Wires released now remove the console

- Console removed from machine

- Remove the door seal from the outer casing

- Using the flat head screwdriver separate the retaining clip

- Pull the retaining clip away with the door seal retaining wire attached

- Remove the door seal retaining wire

- Grip the door seal and pull it away from the outer casing

- Grip the kick strip and pull it away

- Remove the kick strip

- Remove 2 screws retaining the top of the front casing

- Remove 2 screws retaining the bottom of the front casing

- Lift and slide the front casing upwards a small amount

- Pull the front casing away from the machine

- Locate the door interlock on the inner side of the front casing

- Remove the 2 screws retaining the door interlock and remove it from the casing

- Make a note of the wires (a photograph is useful) and remove them

- Take the new interlock from its package ensuring its correct for the appliance

- Fit the wires into the door interlock

- Locate the door interlock on the inside of the front casing

- From the outside make sure its in the right position

- Replace the 2 retaining screws securing the door interlock

- Locate the front casing onto the plastic lugs on the side casing of the machine

- Push the side casing into position and push down onto the plastic lugs

- Replace 2 screws retaining the bottom of the front casing

- Replace 2 screws retaining the top of the front casing

- Replace the kick strip

- Push the kick strip into position

- Fit the door seal to the lip of the front casing

- Replace the door seal retaining wire securing the door seal to the front casing

- Clip the 2 parts into place

- Attach the wires to the control module

- Wires attached

- From the right clip the console into the machine

- From the left push the console into the machine to locate it

- Using the phillips screwdriver replace the 3 console retaining screws

- Replace the soap dispenser

- Relocate the lid and slide forward to engage it

- Using the T15 torx spanner replace the 2 lid retaining screws

- Replace the 2 screw cover caps
