- How to change a heater element on an Indesit Dishwasher
- Safety First:Remove the Plug from the Mains Socket
- Tools required:Phillips Screwdriver & 8mm Socket
- Indesit DI620 Integrated Dishwasher
- Note: We have removed the side panel for photographic purposes only it is possible to replace the heating element by removing the base only.
- Using the phillips screwdriver remove the side panel retaining screws
- Open the door & remove the screws behind the rubber edge cover
- Remove the screws behind the rubber edge cover
- Remove further screws to the side panel
- Remove 2 further screws to the side panel
- Remove further screws to the side panel
- Remove 2 further screws to the side panel
- Remove the right hand side panel
- Lay the appliance on its side to expose the base
- Using the phillips screwdriver remove the base retaining screws
- Remove further base retaining screws
- Carefully pull the base out a small amount
- Locate the overflow unit on the inside of the base
- Make a note of the wires and remove them now remove the base
- From inside the appliance locate the lower spray arm retaining nut
- Grip the lower spray arm retaining nut and twist to release it
- Remove the lower spray arm
- Lower spray arm removed
- From the bottom locate the heater, make a note of the wires & remove them
- Wires Removed
- Grip the terminal protectors & pull them off
- Remove the terminal protectors
- Terminal protectors removed
- Using the 8mm socket release the heater element locking nut
- Remove the locking nut
- Remove the earth wire from the heater element
- Using the 8mm socket release the heater element retaining nut
- Remove the heater element retaining nut
- Remove the washer
- Locate the heater element support bracket
- Remove the heater element support bracket
- Grip the element & squeeze to release it from 2 locations
- Remove the heating element
- Take the new element from its package ensuring its correct for the appliance
- Fit the new heating element into the appliance
- Squeeze the new element to locate it onto the appliance
- Reposition the heater element support bracket
- Support bracket in place
- Refit the washer
- Refit the heating element retaining nut
- Using the 8mm socket tighten the heating element retaining nut
- Refit the earth wire
- Refit the heating element locking nut
- Tighten the heating element locking nut
- Replace both terminal protectors
- Terminal protectors in place
- Refit the wires
- Replace the lower spray arm
- Grip the lower spray arm retaining nut and twist to tighten it
- Lower spray arm back in place
- Replace the wires to the micro switch on the overflow unit
- Wires attached
- Replace the base
- Using the phillips screwdriver replace the base retaining screws
- Replace further base retaining screws
- Now stand the appliance upright
- Replace the Side Panel
- Using the phillips screwdriver replace 2 screws to the side panel
- Replace further screws to the side panel
- Replace 2 further screws to the side panel
- Replace further screws to the side panel
- Replace further screws to the side panel behind the rubber edge cover
- Replace further screws to the side panel behind the rubber edge cover
- Replace further screws to the side panel
- The appliance is now ready for use
