How to change an oven thermostat on an oven, Hotpoint, Indesit
- Safety First:Remove the Plug from the Mains Socket
- Tools Required: A Phillips Screwdriver and a small flat Screwdriver
- Indesit (BIMS31KABIX)
- Open the door
- Remove the oven grid
- Remove the oven drip tray
- From the top of the appliance remove the top retaining screws
- Screw removed
- Remove further top retaining screws
- Remove further top retaining screws
- Remove further top retaining screws
- From the rear lift the top up
- Draw the top towards you and remove it
- Top removed
- Locate the oven thermostat and make a note of the wires (a photograph is useful)
- Remove the wires
- Using a small flat screwdriver release the thermostat retaining clips
- Using a small flat screwdriver release the thermostat retaining clips
- Remove the oven thermostat from the oven function switch
- Oven thermostat removed from the oven function switch
- From inside the oven locate the thermostat sensor
- Using a small flat screwdriver release the sensor from its bracket
- Sensor released from its bracket
- Feed the sensor through the top of the oven cabinet
- From the top of the appliance remove the thermostat sensor
- Oven thermostat removed
- Take the oven thermostat from its package ensuring its correct for the appliance
- Feed the oven thermostat sensor through the top of the oven cabinet
- Push the sensor through to the inside of the cabinet
- From inside the oven grip the sensor
- Locate the sensor into position on its brackets
- Push the sensor firmly into position
- Sensor in position
- From the top of the appliance locate the oven function switch
- Fit the new oven thermostat into the oven function switch
- Push the new oven thermostat into the oven function switch
- Oven thermostat in position now replace the wires
- Make sure the wires are in the correct position
- Replace the top and push it forward into position
- Lower the top down into position
- Replace the top retaining screws
- Tighten the top retaining screws
- Replace and tighten further top retaining screws
- Replace and tighten further top retaining screws
- Replace and tighten further top retaining screws
- Replace the oven drip tray
- Replace the oven grid
- The appliance is now ready for use
