How to change control module on a washing machine Hotpoint WMA 60P
Safety First: Remove the plug from the mains socket
Tools required are a phillips screwdriver and a T15 torx spanner
A small flat head screwdriver
Remove the screw cover caps on both sides of the lid
Using the T15 torx spanner remove 2 lid retaining screws
Lift the lid slightly
Push the lid back and remove it
Lid removed
Remove the soap dispenser
Using the phillips screwdriver remove 3 console retaining screws
From the left pull the console away from the machine
From the right un-clip the console
Make a note of the wires (a photograph is useful)
Release the wires from the control module by pushing them away
Wires released now remove the console
Console removed from machine
Using the flat head screwdriver un-clip the control module
Release a further clip on the control module
Remove the control module
Control module removed
Take the new control module from its package ensuring its correct for appliance
Faults in PCBs are generally caused by faults elswhere in the appliance
These faults should be corrected first to prevent further damage to the new PCBs
The installation of PCBs should be carried out by a qualified electrician
Manufacturers will not guarantee PCBs not fitted by a qualified electrician
locate the new control module onto the console and clip it into place
The console is now ready to be fitted to machine
Attach the wires to the control module
Wires attached
From the right clip the console into the machine
From the left push the console into the machine to locate it
Using the phillips screwdriver replace the 3 console retaining screws
Replace the soap dispenser
Relocate the lid and slide forward to engage it
Using the T15 torx spanner replace the 2 lid retaining screws
Replace the 2 screw cover caps
