How to change On Off switch on a washing machine- Safety first remove plug from the mains socket
- Tools required are a phillips screwdriver and a flat head screwdriver
- Using the phillips screwdriver remove the 2 retaining screws securing the lid
- Give the lid a firm push backwards to disengage it
- Remove the lid
- Using the phillips screwdriver remove 2 screws attaching console to dispenser
- Using the phillips screwdriver remove a screw attaching console to side casing
- Using the phillips screwdriver remove a screw attaching console to side casing
- From inside release 2 clips attaching console to front casing
- Remove the console from the front casing
- Using the flat head screwdriver gently prise the switch away from the console
- Pull the switch until it releases from the push-button
- Make a note of the wires (a photograph is useful) and remove them
- Wires removed
- Take the new switch from its package ensuring its correct for the appliance
- Fit the wires to the new switch
- Place the new switch through the console and locate it into the push-button
- Push the switch down into the console
- Push the push-button until it clicks into the switch
- Refit the console to the front casing push down so it clicks into place
- Using the phillips screwdriver replace a screw attaching console to side casing
- Using the phillips screwdriver replace a screw attaching console to side casing
- Using the phillips screwdriver replace 2 screws attaching console to dispenser
- Replace the lid
- Give the lid a firm push forwards to engage it
- Using the phillips screwdriver replace the 2 retaining screws securing the lid
