  2. Safety first remove plug from main socket

  3. Tools required Phillips screwdriver, 13mm spanner and a 13mm socket.

  4. Using the phillips screwdriver remove the screws from the back panel

  5. Lift and remove the back panel

  6. Release 2 bolts and remove the belt see video for further details
  7. Lay the machine onto its face protecting with a soft cloth

  8. Make a note of the wires (A photograph is useful) and remove wires.

  9. Through the back remove the terminal block and remove earth wires.

  11. Through the bottom using the 13mm spanner remove the motor fixing nut.

  12. Through the back using a 13mm socket remove 2 fixing bolts and remove motor.

  14. Using the phillips screwdriver remove 2 locating screws on each carbon brush.

  15. Separate plastic housings containing carbon brushes

  16. Remove carbon brush from housing and remove wire

  18. Take the carbon brush from its package ensuring its correct for the appliance

  19. Fit wire to new carbon brush and place in housing

  20. Relocate plastic housing

  21. Using the phillips screwdriver refit housing to motor

  22. Place the motor into the location hole shown here.

  23. Through the back fit the 2 retaining bolts do not tighten.

  24. Through the bottom fit the nut fixing the motor

  25. Through the back fit the terminal block and earth wires

  26. Locate the belt onto the motor pulley and and refit belt.See the video for further information.
  27. With the weight of the motor on the belt tighten the 2 bolts.

  28. Locate back panel into lugs.

  29. Using the phillips screwdriver reposition screws into back panel and tighten.
