How to change the console on a tumble dryer
- Safety first remove plug from mains socket
- Tools required are a phillips screwdriver and a small flat head screwdriver
- Using the phillips screwdriver remove 2 retaining screws to remove the lid.
- From the front give the lid a firm push backwards
- Now remove the lid
- Grip firmly and remove the timer control knob
- Remove water container
- Remove 2 screws attaching the console to the water container housing.
- Remove the top screw holding the console
- Remove a further top screw holding the console
- Detach the console from the main carcase
- Un clip the empty water neon warning light from the console
- Using the flat head screwdriver push the heat select button of the switch
- Using the flat head screwdriver gently prise the switch from the console
- Using the flat head screwdriver push the start switch button of the switch
- Using the flat head screwdriver gently prise the switch from the console
- Take the new console from its package ensuring its correct for the appliance
- Now push the heat select switch into the console
- Locate the heat select button into the console
- Push the heat select button onto the switch
- Now push the start switch into the console
- Locate the start button into the console
- Push the start button onto the switch
- Reclip the empty water neon warning light onto the console
- Empty water neon warning light in position
- Attach the new console to the main casing
- Replace the top screw holding the console
- Replace a further top screw holding the console
- Replace 2 screws attaching the console to the water container housing.
- Replace water container
- Replace the timer control knob by pushing it onto the timer spindle
- Refit the lid
- Give the lid a firm push forwards until it clicks into place.
- Replace the 2 lid retaining screws
