How to change the console on a washing machine Hotpoint WMA 60P
- Safety First: Remove the plug from the mains socket
- Tools required are a phillips screwdriver and a T15 torx spanner
- A small flat head screwdriver
- Remove the screw cover caps on both sides of the lid
- Using the T15 torx spanner remove 2 lid retaining screws
- Lift the lid slightly
- Push the lid back and remove it
- Lid removed
- Remove the soap dispenser
- Using the phillips screwdriver remove 3 console retaining screws
- From the left pull the console away from the machine
- From the right un-clip the console
- Make a note of the wires (a photograph is useful)
- Release the wires from the control module by pushing them away
- Wires released now remove the console
- Console removed from machine
- Using the flat head screwdriver un-clip the control module
- Release a further clip on the control module
- Remove the control module
- Control module removed
- Carefully remove the plastic protector covering the buttons and display lens
- Using a flat screwdriver release the clip securing the display lens
- Release a further clip to the display lens
- Remove the display lens
- Remove button bank
- Un-clip option buttons strip of seven
- Remove option buttons strip of seven
- Un-clip option buttons strip of 3
- Remove option buttons strip of 3
- Un-clip programme buttons strip of 7
- Remove programme buttons strip of 7
- Console striped
- Take the new console from its package ensuring its correct for the appliance
- Fit programme buttons strip of 7 into the new console
- Push programme buttons strip of 7 into the new console & clip into position
- Fit option buttons strip of 3 into the new console
- Push option buttons strip of 3 into the new console & clip into position
- Fit option buttons strip of 7 into the new console
- Push option buttons strip of 7 into the new console & clip into position
- Fit button bank into the new console
- Buttons in place
- Replace the display lens
- Clip the display lens into position
- Carefully replace the plastic protector covering the buttons and display lens
- Replace the control module and clip it into place
- New console ready to be fitted to machine
- Attach the wires to the control module
- Wires attached
- From the right clip the console into the machine
- From the left push the console into the machine to locate it
- Using the phillips screwdriver replace the 3 console retaining screws
- Replace the soap dispenser
- Relocate the lid and slide forward to engage it
- Using the T15 torx spanner replace the 2 lid retaining screws
- Replace the 2 screw cover caps
