- How to change the door hinge bearings on a washing machine Hotpoint
- Safety FirstRemove the Plug from the Mains Socket
- Tools required:Phillips & a small flat head screwdriver
- Using the small flat head screwdriver release the door seal retaining clip
- Separate the 2 part retaining clip
- Remove the door seal retaining wire
- Grip the door seal and pull a small amount away from the outer casing
- Using the phillips screwdriver remove the 2 door hinge retaining screws
- Remove the door from the appliance
- The door hinge clamp plate needs to be slid up to remove it
- Place your hand behind the door seal to remove the door hinge clamp plate
- Door hinge clamp plate removed
- Place the door on a flat surface
- Locate the door hinge and hinge bearings
- Using a phillips screwdriver remove 2 door hinge retaining screws from the door
- Remove 2 further screws to the door trim
- Using the small flat head screwdriver separate the door trim from the door face
- Lift the inner door trim slightly to remove the door hinge and hinge bearings
- Door hinge removed with bearings attached
- Separate the door hinge from the hinge bearings
- Take the new door hinge bearing from its package ensuring its correct for the appliance
- Fit the door hinge to the new hinge bearings & position them on the door
- Push down & click the inner door trim into place
- Using the phillips screwdriver replace 2 door hinge retaining screws
- Replace 2 further screws each side of the inner door trim
- Door hinge and hinge bearings fitted to door
- Replace the door hinge clamp on the inside of the casing
- Position the door hinge clamp on the casing & slide down into position
- Door hinge clamp in position
- Position the door & hinge against the casing & replace the retaining screws
- Using the phillips screwdriver tighten the door hinge retaining screws
- Refit the door seal onto the lip of the outer casing
- Replace the door seal retaining wire
- Connect the retaining wire clip together
- Squeeze the 2 parts together
