How to change the door seal on a washing machine Ariston AIB16
Safety first remove plug from the mains socket
Tools required are a phillips screwdriver and a flat headed screwdriver
Using the phillips screwdriver remove the 2 retaining screws securing the lid
Give the lid a firm push backwards to disengage it
Remove the lid
Using a flat headed screwdriver prise away the retaining wire from the shell lip
Remove the retaining wire from the shell lip
Grip the door seal and prise away from the outer shell lip
Remove the door seal from the outer shell lip
Make a note of the drainage holes on the bottom of the door seal
From the top locate the retaining spring on the outer tub and prise it away
Remove the outer tub retaining spring
From the top grip the door seal and pull it away from the outer tub
Take the new seal from its package ensuring its correct for the appliance
A tip here is to lay the machine on its back so the drum settles on its springs
Apply a little liquid soap to the tub lip to assist the rubber seal onto the lip
Making sure the drainage holes are in the correct position at the bottom
Continue to fit the seal to the outer tub lip
With the door seal in place on the outer tub lip refit the retaining spring
Making sure the retaining spring is in the correct position stand the machine up
Pull the door seal through outer shell
locate the door seal onto the shell lip and fit it all the way round
Door seal in place
Locate the wire retaining band onto the door seal
Make sure the wire retaining band it located all the way round the door seal
Replace the lid
Give the lid a firm push forwards to engage it
Using the phillips screwdriver replace the 2 retaining screws securing the lid
