How to change the drain pump on a washing machine Ariston AIB16
Safety first Remove the plug from the mains supply
Tools required are a pair of mole grips and a phillips screwdriver
Remove the plinth at the bottom of the appliance
Using the phillips screwdriver remove the 4 screws retaining the drain pump
Using a dust sheet to protect the surface lay the machine down on its face
Make a note of the wires (a photograph is useful) and remove them
Wires removed
Using the mole grips release the corbin clip attaching the sump hose to the drain pump
Release the corbin clip attaching the drain hose to the drain pump
Remove the hoses from the drain pump
Release the corbin clip attaching the detergent recovery hose to the drain pump
Remove the detergent recovery hose from the drain pump and remove the pump
Take the new drain pump from its package ensuring its correct for the appliance
Apply sealent and attach the detergent recovery hose to the new drain pump
Refit the corbin clip to the detergent recovery hose
Apply sealent and attach the drain hose to the new drain pump
Refit the corbin clip to the drain hose
Apply a little sealant and attach the sump hose to the new drain pump
Fit the wires to the new drain pump
Stand the machine upright
Using the phillips fit the 4 screws to retain the new drain pump
Refit the plinth and the machine is ready for use
