How to change the fan element on an electric oven, Ariston, Cannon, Creda, Hotpoint, Indesit
- Safety First:Remove the Plug from the Mains Socket
- Tools Required: A Phillips screwdriver
- Indesit (BIMS31KABIX)
- Open the door
- Remove the oven grid
- Remove the oven drip tray
- Access is easier with the door removed so locate the hinges on both sides
- Lift the hinge latch on both hinges
- Fold the latch over as far as it will go
- Fold the latch over as far as it will go on the other hinge
- Lift the door up to the hinge latch
- Lift the door further to remove it from the appliance
- Remove the door from the appliance
- Door removed
- Inside the appliance locate the oven fan cover & using the phillips screwdriver remove the retaining screws
- Remove further oven fan cover retaining screws
- Remove further oven fan cover retaining screws
- Remove further oven fan cover retaining screws
- Remove the oven fan cover
- Oven fan cover removed with element exposed
- Using the phillips screwdriver remove the oven fan element retaining screws
- Remove 2 further oven fan element retaining screws
- Grip the element and pull it away from the appliance
- Make a note of the wires (a photograph is useful) and remove them
- Oven fan element removed
- Take the new fan element from its package ensuring its correct for the appliance
- Connect the wires to the new oven fan element
- Locate the new fan element into the appliance
- Replace the oven fan element retaining screws
- Replace further oven fan element retaining screws
- New oven fan element in place
- Replace the oven fan cover
- Replace the oven fan cover retaining screws
- Replace further oven fan cover retaining screws
- Replace further oven fan cover retaining screws
- Replace further oven fan cover retaining screws
- Offer the door up to the appliance to locate the hinges
- Feed the hinges into the appliance on both sides
- Lower the door to its open position
- Lower the door to its open position
- Fold the latches back into the locked position on both sides
- Fold the latches back into the locked position on both sides
- Replace the oven drip tray
- Replace the oven grid
- The appliance is now ready for use
