How to change the Heater Element on an Indesit Tumble Dryer
- Safety First:Remove the Plug from the Mains Socket
- Tools required:Phillips screwdriver & a pair of side cutters
- INDESIT Model IS70C
- Using the phillips screwdriver remove the 2 lid retaining screws
- From the front push the lid back to disengage it
- From the back lift the lid and remove it
- Using the phillips screwdriver remove 4 side panel retaining screws
- Using the phillips screwdriver remove 1 further side panel retaining screw
- Slide the side panel backwards
- Remove the side panel from its lugs at the bottom
- Make a note of the wires (a photograph is useful)
- Using the side cutters cut the cable tie
- Separate the heater electric connecting terminal
- Using the phillips screwdriver remove the 2 drum bearing cover retaining screws
- Drum bearing cover removed
- Using the phillips screwdriver remove the heater cover retaining screws
- Remove the heater cover and pull the wire terminal through the rear casing
- The heater can now be found attached to the inside of the heater cover
- Remove the plastic wire clip from the casing
- Turn the casing over to remove the 2 heater retaining screws
- Heater removed from casing
- Take the new heater from its package ensuring its correct for the appliance
- Fit the new heater inside the heater cover and fit the wire clip into the casing
- Replace the 2 heater retaining screws
- New heater in place and ready to be fitted to appliance
- Feed the electric terminal block through the rear casing
- Position the heater cover onto the appliance and replace the retaining screws
- Using the phillips screwdriver replace the drum bearing cover & retaining screws
- Refit the electrical terminal block
- Using a cable tie secure the wires to the capacitor
- Wires secured with a cable tie
- Relocate the side panel into the lugs at the bottom of the appliance
- Slide the side panel forwards
- Replace the top retaining screw to the side panel
- Replace the rear retaining screws to the side panel
- Replace the lid
- Push the lid forward to engage it and replace the 2 retaining screws
