How to change the motor on a washing machine Ariston AIB16
Safety first Remove the plug from the mains supply
Tools required are a Phillips screwdriver and a 10mm spanner
Using a phillips headed screwdriver remove screws holding the back panel.
Protect the machine with a dust-sheet and lay it on its face
Using the 10mm spanner loosen the nut on 1 motor retaining bolt
Using the 10mm spanner remove the nut on the other motor retaining bolt
Remove the motor retaining bolt to release the tension of the belt
Remove the belt from the drum pully
Remove the belt from the drive pulley
Make a note of the wires (a photograph is useful) and remove them
Wires removed
Using the 10mm spanner remove the nut and remove the other motor retaining bolt
Remove the motor
Motor removed
Take the new motor from its package ensuring its correct for the appliance
Locate the new motor into its housing
Locate 1 motor retaining bolt push down and replace the nut hand tight only
Replace the wires
Wires replaced
Place the belt onto the drive pully
Now place the belt onto the drum pulley
Replace the motor retaining bolt to tension the belt
Using the 10mm spanner replace the nut on the motor retaining bolt & tighten
Tighten the other motor retaining bolt and stand the machine up
Replace the back panel and tighten the retaining screws
