How to change the oven function switch on an oven, Ariston, Creda, Hotpoint, Indesit
- Safety First:Remove the Plug from the Mains Socket
- Tools Required: A Phillips Screwdriver and a small flat Screwdriver
- Indesit (BIMS31KABIX)
- From the top of the appliance remove the top retaining screws
- Screw removed
- Remove further top retaining screws
- Remove further top retaining screws
- Remove further top retaining screws
- From the rear lift the top up
- Draw the top towards you and remove it
- Top removed
- Locate the oven thermostat and make a note of the wires (a photograph is useful)
- Remove the wires
- Using a small flat screwdriver release the thermostat retaining clips
- Using a small flat screwdriver release the thermostat retaining clips
- Remove the oven thermostat from the oven function switch
- Oven thermostat removed from the oven function switch
- Make a note of the wires (a photograph is useful) and remove them
- Make a note of further wires (a photograph is useful) and remove them
- Wires removed from the oven function switch
- On the console grip the control knob
- Pull the control knob off
- Control knob removed
- Using the phillips screwdriver remove the function switch retaining screws
- Remove further function switch retaining screws
- Grip the oven function switch and remove it from the console
- Oven function switch removed
- Take the function switch from its package ensuring its correct for the appliance
- Fit the new oven function switch onto the console
- Make sure its lined up with the screw holes on the console
- Hold the oven function switch against the console & replace the retaining screws
- Using the phillips screwdriver tighten the retaining screws
- Tighten further retaining screws
- Line up the control knob taking note of the shape of the spindle
- Push the control knob into position
- Refit the wires making sure they are in the correct position
- Fit the oven thermostat into the oven function switch
- Push the oven thermostat into the oven function switch
- Oven thermostat in position now replace the wires
- Make sure the wires are in the correct position
- Replace the top and push it forward into position
- Lower the top down into position
- Replace the top retaining screws
- Tighten the top retaining screws
- Replace and tighten further top retaining screws
- Replace and tighten further top retaining screws
- Replace and tighten further top retaining screws
- The appliance is now ready for use
