How to replace a sump seal on a dishwasher

  2. Safety first remove plug from mains socket

  3. Tools required are a pair of mole grips and a Phillips screwdriver.

  4. Grip the spray arm and give it a good pull to remove it.

  5. Twist and remove sump filter

  6. Remove filter mesh

  7. Using the phillips screwdriver remove 2 screws and remove lid.

  8. Using the phillips screwdriver remove inner screws both sides of door

  9. Using the phillips screwdriver remove 2 outer screws and remove door panel

  10. Using the phillips screwdriver remove 2 screws and remove front bottom closure.

  11. Using the phillips screwdriver remove screws and remove side panels

  12. Lay the machine on its back to expose the bottom use a cloth to protect surface

  17. Remove metal cover plate

  18. Lift base panel from locating lugs on left side

  19. Un clip from the right side and remove base panel

  20. Using the phillips screwdriver remove screws to angled cover plate

  21. Using the phillips screwdriver remove further  screws to angled cover plate

  22. Remove angled cover plate

  23. Using the phillips screwdriver remove retaining screws to plastic bottom

  24. Using the phillips screwdriver remove further retaining screws to plastic bottom

  25. You can now pull the plastic bottom towards you, do not remove completely.

  26. Release corbin clips and remove 2 small pipes from the sump

  27. Make a note of the wires (a photograph is useful)

  30. Using the mole grips release the corbin clips and remove all hoses from the sump

  31. Remove all hoses from the sump.

  32. Using the Phillips screwdriver remove the screws securing the sump

  33. Remove the screws securing the sump and the spray arm mounting point .

  34. Remove the spray arm mounting point.

  35. From the bottom of appliance remove the sump.

  36. Now remove the sump seal.

  37. Take the new seal from its package ensuring its correct for the appliance.

  38. Fit the new seal to the load compartment base.

  39. Replace the sump to the bottom of appliance

  40. Replace the spray arm mounting point.

  41. Replace the screws securing the sump and the spray arm mounting point .

  42. Using the Phillips screwdriver replace the screws securing the sump

  43. Using a suitable sealant replace the hoses to the sump.

  44. Using the mole grips replace corbin clips and secure hoses to sump.

  45. Replace wires

  46. Replace 2 small hoses to sump

  47. Using the mole grips secure small hoses with the corbin clips

  48. You can now push the plastic bottom back in and relocate back in appliance.

  49. Using the phillips screwdriver refit  retaining screws to plastic bottom

  50. Using the phillips screwdriver refit further retaining screws to plastic bottom

  51. Replace angled cover plate

  52. Using the phillips screwdriver refit  screws to angled cover plate

  53. Using the phillips screwdriver refit further  screws to angled cover plate

  54. Re-clip from the right side and replace base panel.

  55. Lift base panel into locating lugs on left side

  56. Refit metal cover plate

  57. Using the phillips screwdriver replace the screws

  58. Using the phillips screwdriver refit the legs

  59. Using the phillips screwdriver replace remaining screws

  60. Using the phillips screwdriver replace retaining screws to bottom.

  61. The appliance can now be stood up

  62. Using the phillips screwdriver replace side panels and replace screws.

  63. Using the phillips screwdriver replace bottom closure securing with 2 screws

  64. Using the phillips screwdriver replace door panel securing the 2 outer screws

  65. Using the phillips screwdriver replace inner screws both sides of door

  66. Using the phillips screwdriver replace lid securing with 2 screws
