How to replace a washing machine drain pump- Safety first remove plug from mains socket
- Tools required 10mm spanner and a pair of pliers
- Lay the machine on to its face protecting the surface with a suitable cloth
- Using the pliers release the spring clip and remove the discharge pipe
- Using the pliers release the spring clip and remove the sump hose from the pump
- Pump hoses removed
- Using the 10mm spanner remove 2 bolts and remove the pump
- Make a note of the wires (A photograph is useful) and remove the wires
- Take the new pump from its package ensuring its correct for the appliance
- Using the 10mm spanner fit new pump to the appliance & refit the wires
- Fit both the sump hose and discharge pipe to the new pump stand machine upright
