What Is The Best Washing Machine To Buy?

There is no one answer to the Best Washing Machine because it depends on you, your circumstances and your family.  All of these things have a bearing on which is the best machine for you.

Before you set off on your search, you should think about the following as it may help you to buy what is best for you.

  • How much did you pay for your last machine and how long did it last.
  • Were you happy with the machine and did it suit all your needs
  • How many people in your householdHow many washes on average do you do a week
  • Do you use all the programmes available to you, or are there others that would be more helpful
  • What are your must have features for a washing machine
  • How long do you expect it to lastHow much can you afford to spend

The first point on this list is very important because it should help you to realise if your last machine had shortcomings you do not want to repeat them in its replacement, or has it set the bar very high for its replacement.  In most cases it is probably somewhere in the middle. The best washing machine

Costs

There is no getting away from the fact that the more you pay, the better the machine you will have and, conversely, the lower you pay, the worse machine you will have.  That is a fact but, obviously, there are differences in the machines at either end of the market, and you need to get the best you can afford.

Unfortunately if you buy very cheap, you will probably end up with a machine that tends to break down on a fairly regular basis, it might leak, could be very noisy and, most importantly, does not give you the results you are looking for.  Also this type of machine will probably not last very long, maybe only 2-3 years, because it will be made from less durable materials as they are cheaper.

There are some excellent machines at the top end of the market, and these should all satisfy your needs for results, durability, progamme options and long service.  If you work out the economics, you may very well purchase a top end machine that will outlive two or even three machines bought at rock bottom prices.

There are obviously the very popular medium price range machines, which is where the vast majority of people select their machines from.  These are far better than the lower end appliance, but not as good as the top end.  They generally will give you good service, and should last between 5-6 years on average.  The programme options should be good and all parts should be made from metal, unlike the lower end machines which will have some plastic parts.

Working through the original list identified above, the number of people in your household should certainly indicate that you may need stay away from the bottom end of the market.

If you are a busy household, with 4 to 6 people, you should really be looking for a robust machine that will take the amount of washes the machine will need to carry out in its life time.  You should definitely be looking towards the top end of the machines on the market as it will provide you with the variety of programmes that you will need, plus it should be robust enough to cope with the number of weekly washes that will be required.  The longer you keep a machine, the cheaper the use becomes as there would be very little need for repairs to replace parts that have broken down or worn out.

If the machine is to be used by one or two people, the wear and tear will obviously be reasonably low.  Regardless of this, the recommendation is still to go for the most expensive machine you can afford.  It will still be cost effective because, with a lower use, the appliance could well last for a very long time.

Manufacturers

Even if you only have a small budget, always buy from a well-known and reputable manufacturer.  They should all produce a reasonably priced budget machine which should be reliable as they have their good name to protect.  This type of machine would probably not have as many programme options, but should give you a good service none the less.

In the medium to high price ranges you will probably find that the most popular machines tend to come from Germany, but as manufacturing costs are high in Germany, it would be harder to find a budget model from there.  Care is required though, as you need to try to ensure that if the machine you are interested in has a German name, that it has actually been manufactured in Germany and is not some kind of take off. The reason German manufacturers are so popular is because they produce good, reliable and long-lasting appliances, and people have great confidence in the quality.

There is no such thing as the Best Washing Machine that will suit everyone, and you should really concentrate on buying the Best Washing Machine for you.
