Washing Machine Door Seal
If your washing machine door seal has perished or is leaking, the chances are you need to replace it. There are different methods to fitting washing machine door seals but here is a general guide to help you if your gasket needs replacing.
Safety first
Ensure your appliance is switched off and unplugged from the mains supply
How to remove a washing machine door seal
Step 1
First of all remove the lid from the top of your appliance, there are usually two screws holding it in place. Then remove the soap dispenser drawer from the front of the appliance and the kick plate at the bottom of your washing machine which normally just pull off.
Step 2
Now remove the screws from the control panel (this is what contains the buttons and dials that you control your washing machine with) usually four screws, one on each corner from inside the washing machine.
Step 3
Remove the screws form each side of the door latch
Step 4
Using a flat head screw driver you will need to remove the door retaining spring which can be found underneath the seal. Pull the washing machine door seal away from the front panel and push it inside the appliance. You should now be able to remove the front panel of your washing machine.
Step 5
Now using the flat head screw driver work it around the internal retainer and remove this, the door seal is now released and you should be able to remove by pulling it with your hand.
How to replace a washing machine door seal
Step 1
Using your hands insert the door gasket back into place and then reattach the door seal to the drum, there is a groove all around the drum and the door seal needs to be fed onto this.
Step 2
You now need to reattach the door retaining band. It might be worth using a brand new one as they can become damaged on removal of the original. Make sure that the positioning of the band is correct and that it is a tight fit.
Step 3
Put the washing machine front panel back into position and replace the door latch. Now pull the door seal through and reattach to the front panel grooves and reattach the outer door retaining spring. Reinsert all the screws and tighten, replace the soap drawer and the control panel and reattach the top cover of your washing machine.
Your washing machine door gasket is now attached and ready for use again.
Locating the correct washing machine door gasket
All door seals are different and you will need to select the correct one for your appliance, first of all select the manufacturer of your appliance from the list and then either enter your model number into the search or select it from the list. You may be presented with more than one option so this usually means that there is a genuine or a non genuine option available. The genuine door seals are obviously the best option as they are made by the manufacturer of your appliance and are of the highest quality but they are usually more expensive than the non genuine (pattern) types.
Our non genuine door seals are all high quality and made to the manufacturers specification so if you are on a budget this might be the best option for you.
We will match any of our competitors prices so please see our price match guarantee.

Hotpoint Door Seal
Seal arrived 3 or 4 days after ordering, I am fairly mechanically minded so after looking at fitting instructions I was able to fit the new Door Seal in abiut 40 minutes, this includes pulling washer out disconnecting pipes and power then putting everything back, great advice btw to put washing up liquid round seal before fitting, the seal itself is good quality and I would highly recommend yourspares to anyone needing appliance spares
