In Use
The transformer emits a hum which you do get used to although it does get warm even when not in use so there is a 24/7 running cost. However the transformer has permitted me to retain a very nice bedside lamp which I had not appreciated would be for 110V operation as it was an internet purchase from the states. I thought about just replacing the plug with a UK one but that would have destroyed the touch base on/off facility. The converter was a relatively cheap solution.

It does the job perfectly just plug in to the 13 amp
mains socket and then plug the American unit into
the transformer and that's it job done.
